Johannes Brahms

A composer who is very close to our hearts. From simpel german folksongs to heavy big symphonies. The latter with great connections bach to the older great masters like Beethoven, Bach and many others. A hard and heart working composer who needs very good musicians to do it.
A special thing in Brahms is his marvellous rhytm and melody lines.

Here is some recordings to enjoy. First his last opus number 4 ernste gesänge with the great Hans Hotter. The Bach kantate is my favorite Bach singing.

The symphonies I like to hear conductet by Furtwängler, Klemperer, Sanderling, Abbado and Boult.

and there is many more: Barbirolli, Karajan, Bernstein, Monteux. And there is a fatal missing in my collection of Brahms symphonies, the old Eugene Jochum (DGG) and Günther Wand.

Pianoconcertos:

Piano, solo pieces:
My favorite piano piece is opus 116,2 (I can nearly play it myself, but Kempf and Gilels of course do it in a much better way).

Violin concerto
This is a great concerto, one of the best. I have heard Anne Sophie Mutter in our concerthouse, goooosebumps!!! Here she is plus some of my other favourites.
